iGolf Launches ‘It’s Your Game’ Campaign to Champion Women’s Independence in Golf
iGolf, England’s official platform for independent golfers, has launched a nationwide campaign aimed at empowering more women to play golf on their own terms.
Titled It’s Your Game, the initiative celebrates the experiences of female iGolf subscribers and encourages more women to take ownership of their golfing journey with the support of a Handicap Index®.
The campaign seeks to shine a light on real-life stories from women across England who are using iGolf to enjoy the game without traditional membership ties.
From busy professionals to retirees, It’s Your Game is about flexibility, freedom, and finding fulfilment through golf—however it fits your life.
Leading the campaign is former England goalkeeper Carly Telford, who turned to golf after retiring from professional football.
For Telford, iGolf has offered more than just a sporting outlet—it’s provided focus, personal development, and a connection to a new community.
The ex-Lioness said:
“When I retired, I was looking for something that gave me a focus – something for me.”
“Golf has been that outlet. iGolf helped me track my progress, build confidence, and enjoy the game at my own pace. I love the freedom it gives me to play when and where it suits me, with no pressure—just pure enjoyment.”
With over 1,800 affiliated golf clubs and facilities, England Golf is working to make the sport more inclusive and accessible. iGolf plays a key role in this vision, allowing players to maintain a recognised Handicap Index® without needing to join a club.
“There’s no one way to play golf anymore,” said Claire Hodgson, Head of iGolf/iPlay. “With iGolf, we’re offering women a flexible way to play—one that fits around their life, helps them track progress, and feel part of the game. This campaign is about celebrating that freedom.”
Women are invited to join the conversation by sharing their stories online using the hashtag #ItsYourGame, helping to build a community of encouragement and inspiration for others considering golf or returning to the game.
