Plassey Golf Club member Alice Hall has won the Wales Golf Steps Challenge for a second successive year.
She beat Aberdovey’s Isobel Kelly by 5,000 steps when she totalled 75,000 steps for the month.
Her prize was an inside the ropes experience at last month’s AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl and three tickets to the final day’s play.
After mentioning to the organisers that Charley Hull was Alice’s idol, Alice was allowed to walk with that group.
The family thought Alice would be walking one or two holes only, but both Alice and dad Ian, the 2023 Plassey captain, were allowed to walk directly behind the group through all 18 holes.
Alice said: “It was a truly remarkable day and one I will remember forever.”
I was lucky enough to get a signed glove by Megan Khang, who was also in that group, plus two of the golf balls used for the round by Charley Hull and a signed cap, as well as a photo with her.
How the Wales Golf Steps Challenge Works
The Wales Golf Steps Challenge turns every round you play into steps! It’s simple. Nine holes equates to 5,000 steps and 18 holes to 10,000 steps.
Every time you play a round of golf and submit the score for handicapping, Wales Golf will track your steps and add them to your personal and club totals.
It’s a great way to stay active, support your club, and enjoy some friendly competition
