Barbara Relishing Her New Role
Barbara Jamieson is delighted to be the new Cheshire County Ladies Golf Association’s senior captain.
She is looking forward to another successful season for the CCLGA seniors team.
“I grew up in a sporting family and started playing golf at the age of 12,” she said.
“I was a member of Otley Golf Club in West Yorkshire for 25 years and during the 1990’s represented Yorkshire at both junior and full county level.
“In 2005 I moved to Cheshire and became a member of Heswall Golf Club where I was lady captain in 2014.
“I was Cheshire Ladies Senior champion in 2018 and won the St Andrews Links Strathtyrum Trophy in 2021.
“Upon moving to Cheshire, I was made to feel very welcome and have had some of my happiest times on the golf course whilst playing for the seniors’ team and have made some lasting friendships.
It is therefore an honour to be seniors captain and to be able to give back to something that has given me so much.
“I would like to thank the past senior captains for nominating me, and I will endeavour to do my best to follow a long line of successful captains as we endeavour to retain the Richardson Trophy for the eighth successive year.”
