Gotterup Claims Scottish Open Title Using Bridgestone TOUR B X MindSet Golf Ball and 220 MB Irons
Bridgestone Golf staff player Chris Gotterup secured the biggest win of his professional career with victory at the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open, held at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick.
The 25-year-old’s final round of 66 sealed a 15-under-par total and earned him a coveted place in next week’s Open Championship at Royal Portrush.
The victory also marked Gotterup’s second PGA TOUR title, following his maiden win at the Myrtle Beach Classic in 2024.
His success in Scotland was supported by a full Bridgestone equipment setup, including the TOUR B X MindSet golf ball and 220 MB forged irons — gear that Gotterup credits as instrumental to his performance.
“This is the biggest win of my career so far and I couldn’t have done it without Bridgestone,” said Gotterup.
“The TOUR B X MindSet is the best golf ball I’ve ever played due to an incredible combination of distance and control with the ability to keep me mentally locked in, and the 220 MB forged irons are consistent and soft like butter, making trajectory and distance control extremely easy.”
MindSet & Technology Delivers On-Course Focus

Gotterup’s week included a second-round course record 61, showcasing both his power and precision — a combination Bridgestone says is made possible by the MindSet ball technology.
The TOUR B X MindSet ball features the company’s REACTIV X system, combining a REACTIV iQ cover with a new XCLRNT mid-layer to enhance both distance and short-game performance. The result is a tour-level ball designed to help players stay focused and consistent under pressure.
“We’re extremely happy for Chris and proud that he achieved this great victory with our TOUR B X MindSet golf ball and our 220 MB forged irons,” said Dan Murphy, President of Bridgestone Golf. Dan adds:
“We knew he was destined for great things when he joined our Tour staff, and we can’t wait to see what he does in the upcoming Open Championship.”
Forged Irons for Tour-Level Precision
Gotterup’s approach play was supported by Bridgestone’s 220 MB forged irons, a traditional muscleback design crafted for elite players.
Featuring Tour Groove Design, the irons are engineered to deliver consistent spin rates, precise distance control and exceptional feel — all key factors on tight links turf and in variable Scottish conditions.
The win continues Bridgestone’s strong presence on Tour and highlights the performance capabilities of its latest equipment technologies.
