Cabot Bordeaux Launches Golf & Wine Package for Autumn Escapes in the Médoc
Cabot Bordeaux has unveiled a new autumn experience designed for golfers and wine lovers alike with its newly launched Golf & Wine Package, combining world-class golf with the richness of Bordeaux’s renowned vineyards.
Perfectly timed for the region’s harvest season, the package invites golfers to explore the heart of Southwest France’s Médoc region in true French style.
Cabot Bordeaux boasts a prime location in the heart of the Bordeaux region, situated just 20 km northwest of both Bordeaux city center and Bordeaux Airport.
Golf in the Vines: Cabot Bordeaux’s Dual Course Experience
At the centre of the package are Cabot Bordeaux’s two acclaimed golf courses, both ranked among the top 100 in France.
The Châteaux Course, designed by Bill Coore in 1987, was created in homage to Tom Simpson’s 1920s French designs like Morfontaine.

Built on sandy soil with heather-lined bunkers and firm fairways, it evokes classic UK heathland courses such as Sunningdale.
At 6,938 yards (par 71), it emphasizes strategic risk/reward play, starting from the first tee where golfers must choose between safer or more challenging routes—a theme carried throughout the round for an engaging experience.
The neighbouring Vignes Course, nestled amidst the natural contours of the region, is also ranked within France’s top 30. The Course, designed by Rod Whitman in 1989 after his work on Châteaux, offers golfers a different test with its 6,820-yard par-71 layout.

Featuring shorter holes, tighter fairways, and more demanding greens, it contrasts sharply with its sister course.
Whitman, a fan of links-style golf, infused Vignes with a Scottish flavor—heather, gorse, and Junay bushes frame the holes as they wind through moors and beneath the tall maritime pines of Southwest France.
For the golfer, the course is all about strategy: Whitman uses clever bunkering and natural features to present multiple options, often luring players toward the bolder, riskier line with the promise of reward.
The variety of playing situations keeps golfers engaged from start to finish, making Vignes both a thinking player’s course and one that remains approachable and enjoyable for beginners and low handicappers alike.
Both courses reflect Cabot’s growing portfolio of international destinations, marrying architecture and landscape in equal measure.
