Details – Hospitality, Sports, Leisure, Portugal’s largest golf management company, has expanded its portfolio with the addition of Tróia Resort golf and hotel management, the tenth golf destination under its stewardship.
Situated just an hour south of Lisbon in the Alentejo region, Tróia Resort is a long-established name in Portuguese golf and lifestyle tourism.
The resort’s 18-hole championship golf course joins a portfolio that already includes prominent venues such as Vilamoura Golf, PGA Aroeira Lisboa, Palmares Ocean Living & Golf, and Vale Pisão.
Tróia Resort offers a comprehensive array of amenities that extend well beyond the fairways.
These include a 132-room five-star hotel, a 242-room four-star hotel, a marina, a beach and sports centre, a conference venue, spa, tourist apartments, private residences, and various retail outlets.
The location’s combination of golden sand beaches, natural surroundings, and sports infrastructure makes it uniquely positioned to cater to a wide range of travellers—from golfers and leisure tourists to families and corporate groups.
As part of the new management agreement, Details will assume operational responsibility for the golf course, clubhouse, and all three hotels on site—The Editory by the Sea, Aqualuz Tróia Mar, and Aqualuz Tróia Rio—adding over 500 rooms to its hospitality portfolio.
In parallel, Norfin Group, also owned by Arrow Global, will manage real estate development within the resort.
Details will also oversee the beach and sports club operations, with significant investment already earmarked to enhance both guest accommodation and lifestyle offerings.
Nuno Sepulveda, co-CEO at Details – Sports, Hospitality, Leisure, noted the opportunity to reposition the resort:
“With its amazing location so close to Lisbon and with a wide array of sports and leisure facilities – including three hotels – Tróia Resort has huge potential and all the ingredients to help make this region a unique destination for golfers to visit in Portugal.”
The resort has fallen slightly off the radar of travelling golfers in recent years but its quality is without doubt, and we’re thrilled to have this opportunity to reposition Tróia Resort not only at the forefront of Portuguese golf but as an exciting new sports hub to the south of Lisbon.
Francisco Moser, co-CEO of hospitality at Details, echoed the sentiment:
“Tróia Resort stands out as a destination with extraordinary potential.
The combination of beach, easy access, sports facilities, accommodation, dining, and leisure makes it a complete and highly versatile product.
With a broad accommodation offer, the resort is well positioned to meet the needs of a diverse set of audiences: from families and active travellers to corporate groups.
The MICE segment represents a strong opportunity and, thanks to its integrated infrastructure, Tróia Resort is ready to host team-building programmes, business events and large-scale gatherings, all in a distinctive and inspiring setting.
We’re confident that, under the management of Arrow Group, Tróia Resort has everything it takes to establish itself just south of Lisbon as one of the most relevant resorts in Europe, both for leisure and for sport.”
Details continues to lead the Portuguese golf market through a growing and diverse portfolio of properties, with 29 hotels and real estate projects currently operating or under development.
With the addition of Tróia Resort golf and hotel management, the company strengthens its position as a key player in the region’s tourism and sporting sectors.
