Golf Foundation Named Official Charity for 2025 BMW PGA Championship
The Golf Foundation has been announced as the official charity partner of the 2025 BMW PGA Championship, underscoring a shared commitment to youth mental wellbeing through golf.
This partnership builds upon the foundation’s existing collaborations with the DP World Tour and BMW, aiming to expand the reach of its ‘Unleash Your Drive‘ program in schools across the UK and Ireland.
Strengthening a Collaborative Relationship
The Golf Foundation’s longstanding relationship with the DP World Tour includes organising community and school events at various tournaments, such as the British Masters and previous BMW PGA Championships.
BMW has also supported the foundation’s initiatives, notably through the ‘Eagles for Education’ campaign, which raised £89,000 in 2024 by donating £1,000 for every eagle scored during the tournament. europeantour.com
Expanding ‘Unleash Your Drive’ in Schools
Launched in September 2023, ‘Unleash Your Drive’ is a six-week program designed to enhance children’s mental resilience through golf-based activities. To date, over 1,500 schools have expressed interest in the program.
Early evaluations indicate a 20% improvement in students’ understanding of mental toughness tools and a 6% increase in overall mental wellbeing. Golf Business News
