Two More Powered Wheelchairs Presented at Helsby MEGA Day 2025
The Powered Wheelchair Appeal at Helsby Golf Club held its annual MEGA day fundraiser, and it was a fantastic day all round!
A day of golf and sunshine was followed by great food, and then the highlight was the presentation, by captain Martyn Guest, lady captain Viv Nagle, and president Brian Prince, of two more chairs to deserving youngsters.
They were presented to nine-year-old Sophie May Gould from West Derby in Liverpool and 13-year-old Charlie Dobbin from Norris Green in Liverpool.
Sophie and Charlie were accompanied by their families on the night, and they are looking forward to the independence their new chairs will bring them.
The evening entertainment at Helsby was provided as usual by the MEGA (Merseyside Entertainers Golf Association), and they ensured everyone had a great evening with many laughs!
The chairs bring the total presented over the years to 437, and the Appeal would like to thank David Sydall of Optimum Costs Consultants, who sponsored the prizes. The day overall raised a fantastic sum of around £2,000.
