Jenny ends her long wait
Jenny White’s long wait for a hole-in-one is finally over.
The Didsbury member, who has been playing golf for 38 years, aced while playing for the Didsbury Ladies team in the prestigious Mersey Ladies Shield at Chorlton Golf Club.
It came on the tricky 113-yard par three 17th hole, and Jenny hit a low rescue club under a tree and lost sight of the finish of the ball, which was heading for the green.

“On reaching the green, there was one ball in view and playing partner Julie Matthews (Sale) identified it as hers.
“I thought my ball had gone through the green, but on passing the hole, I was delighted to find my ball there.
“It was a great moment, and I was congratulated by my playing partners, one of whom was Caroline Croxton (Sale) who I knew from working with me at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996.”
“Now I am ready to go and get my second ace!”
