Cheshire Legend Lands Eighth Hole-in-One at Mere Golf Club
Mere Golf Club member Jon Beesley hit the eighth hole-in-one of his career when he holed out on the new third hole at Mere Golf Club.
A Grand Slam of Aces
Jon, who also plays at Warrington Golf Club, where he recently recorded his seventh ace, has now holed in one on all the par threes at Mere Golf Club.
Jon said: “The new third at Mere is 128 yards so I used my 50-degree wedge and the shot had one bounce and spun into the hole.
“It is my 30th year as a member of Mere and this ace completed the grand slam of hole in one’s on the par-three holes at Mere.”
A Record-Breaking Career
Jon’s seventh ace a few months ago at Warrington Golf Club was in a Manchester and District Alliance event. He was given a special prize by Alliance president Ian Brooks.
His previous aces included four at Mere Golf Club, one at Adlington Golf Centre, and another on the 12th hole at Warrington Golf Club.
