Proceeds raised throughout the event will be donated to Sport Mundi, a Spanish non-profit organisation dedicated to helping children in need.
Confirming the event’s star appeal, Spanish legend Miguel Ángel Jiménez, a 21-time DP World Tour winner, has already committed to teeing it up alongside his close friend Olazábal for the fourth consecutive year.
More big names are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Olazábal expressed his delight at the new partnership:
“We are grateful to Details – Hospitality, Sports, Leisure for hosting our charity Pro-Am this year at the wonderful Palmares Ocean Living & Golf. It fills me with pride that we are able to continue our efforts to raise money for children in need – my colleagues at our charity Sport Mundi and I already look forward to a great event in the Algarve!”
The pro-am format sees teams of one professional and three amateurs competing over two days, following a practice round on the Friday.
The tournament will showcase all three of the resort’s acclaimed Robert Trent Jones Jnr-designed nine-hole courses – the Praia, Alvor, and Lagos loops.

Attendees will enjoy a packed itinerary of premium hospitality, including a welcome dinner and a special evening featuring a meal at the resort’s Michelin-starred restaurant, AL SUD, followed by a party.
Nuno Sepulveda, co-CEO at Details, the resort’s management company, added: “Everyone at Palmares jumped at the opportunity to bring this wonderful event to the resort… Of course, José María Olazábal is one of the great legends of European golf and we can’t wait to see him, Miguel Ángel Jiménez and many more incredible players tee off alongside amateurs for a good cause on Robert Trent Jones Jr.’s masterpiece.”
Characterised by its incredible views across the Bay of Lagos, Palmares Ocean Living & Golf has cemented its reputation as one of Europe’s bucket-list destinations.
The 27-hole course is renowned for its diverse challenges and is supported by award-winning facilities, including a clubhouse that was named ‘Europe’s Best Clubhouse’ at the 2024 World Golf Awards.
