Chester Golf Club Golfer Pete Celebrates Second Ace
Chester Golf Club member Pete Jones made it a day to remember when he joined 15 fellow members on a recent away day at Formby Golf Club.
A Perfect Shot
The 7.8 handicapper struck a hole-in-one, won the nearest-the-pin prize, the best back-nine prize, and the overall prize.
Playing off the yellow tees, Pete, who works as a technician for Volkswagen, holed his gap wedge on the 110-yard 16th hole.
“We were playing as four fourballs,” explained Pete, who lives in Saltney. “I hit a really good shot and I knew it would be quite close. Myself and Ashley Beverley saw it go, but the other two players had turned away so they missed it!”
A Special Achievement
It was the 53-year-old’s second ace – his first was on the eighth hole at Chester Golf Club six years ago.
“I just felt pure jubilation when I realised it was in,” he added.
“The course at Formby is just incredible. It’s a real Bucket List place so to get a hole-in-one there makes it even more special.”
Eyeing a Hat-Trick
Now he’ll be hoping to make it a hat-trick!
