Introducing the exclusive limited-edition Phantom Black Putters by Scotty Cameron.

First Look: Phantom Black Putters from Scotty Cameron Arrive This July

Scotty Cameron has unveiled a new limited-edition line of Phantom Black putters, blending Tour-inspired mallet designs with an elegant black finish and custom-engineered features.

The new range will be available globally from 25 July 2025 through selected Titleist-authorised golf shops.

The Phantom Black lineup includes four models — Phantom Black 5.5, 7, 9.2R and 11 — each incorporating prototype designs and tour-level feedback.

Featuring Scotty Cameron’s Tour Black PVD finish, new alignment cues, custom shaft options and chain-link face milling, the release is aimed at golfers seeking premium mallet performance with aesthetics inspired by the professional game.

Tour Proven, Tour Inspired

The Phantom Black collection was developed in response to direct input from professional players who regularly request custom modifications to standard Phantom models.

Each of the four putters showcases specific design tweaks tailored for performance and visual feedback.

Scotty Cameron, Founder and Master Craftsman said:

“With the Phantom Black 5.5, 7, 9.2R and 11 mallets, we have created four new models that incorporate specific feedback from the pros related to alignment, overall shape, neck configuration and, of course, the Tour Black finish.”

“These are the Phantom models we most commonly modify for tour players,” he added. “This release brings that technology to dedicated golfers.”

Phantom Black Models Breakdown

All models feature 303 stainless steel construction with milled 6061 aircraft-grade aluminium components and performance-balanced heel-toe weighting.

They also come with a custom Matador grip, black shaft band, and Phantom Black headcover.

Phantom Black 5.5

  • Wing-back mid-mallet with a jet neck
  • Custom sight line
  • Right and left-hand versions available

Phantom Black 7

  • Double-bend shaft designed to emulate a plumber’s neck
  • Tour-inspired visual setup
  • Near-face balanced for consistent roll

Phantom Black 9.2R

  • All-new model
  • “009-inspired” short plumbing neck set closer to the heel
  • Rounded shape and custom sight line
  • Designed for enhanced face awareness

Phantom Black 11

  • High MOI, multi-material mallet
  • Face-balanced with mid-bend shaft
  • Parallel sight lines for simplified alignment

Austie Rollinson, Senior Director of Putter R&D at Titleist, said, “each Phantom Black putter is a response to a tour player request, from the finish to shaft bends and sight lines; we’ve created models that offer both visual clarity and precise performance.”

Advanced Face Milling and Finish

Each putter features chain-link face milling, a proprietary design that reduces surface contact between the ball and face at impact.

This promotes a softer sound and more consistent roll characteristics, while retaining responsive feedback.

The Tour Black finish is created using a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) treatment for a glare-reducing, matte black appearance.

Combined with misted and anodised aluminium elements, the putters offer both striking visuals and functional benefits.

Putters are fitted with customisable sole weights (10g, 15g or 20g) according to length (33″, 34″, or 35″). Each model maintains a 3.5° loft and 70° lie angle, with performance-focused geometry built into the setup.

Availability and Pricing

The Phantom Black line will be available in limited quantities from 25 July 2025, exclusively at Titleist-authorised retailers worldwide. MSRP: £599.
