Southport Old Links Golf Club – Juniors Fundraising for Tiny Tickers
Southport Old Links junior captain Ethan Fitzpatrick hosted a charity golf day to raise funds for Tiny Tickers.
This small charity is dedicated to improving the detection, care, and treatment of babies with serious heart conditions.
Founded in 1999 by renowned fetal cardiologist Dr Helena Gardiner, Tiny Tickers works to increase early detection rates of cardiac conditions.
Their efforts improve a baby’s chance of survival and long-term quality of life.
Since the charity’s launch, rates for heart problems being detected during pregnancy have more than doubled, thanks in part to the work they do.
Ethan’s mum, who works as a radiographer/sonographer for the NHS at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trust, plays an important role in this detection work.
The day’s events included 80 juniors and parents participating in a junior and adult golf competition, alongside the academy juniors playing a golf sixes event.
In addition to a raffle, the juniors were sponsored by family and friends, helping to raise £1,000 for Tiny Tickers.
The presentation took place before their annual challenge match between the Captain’s select team and the Juniors of Southport Old Links.

Ethan, joined by club captain Mark Hudson, presented the cheque to Anne Rhodes, head of health professional services and deputy CEO of Tiny Tickers.
