ONE of the highlights of the final AGM for Cheshire County Ladies Golf Association (CCLGA) was the award of vice-president status to three of their true legends.
Lis Wilson (Stockport), Wendy Taylor (Wilmslow), and Pam Draper (Chorlton) have worked for many years in a variety of roles for club and county, giving fantastic and dedicated service.
They were given well-deserved applause from the people at the AGM – the final one after 117 years since the CCLGA began.
A Special Surprise Recognition
The award came as a total surprise for CCLGA president Pam Draper, who said:
“As to what the award means to me – I am still in shock as it came as such a surprise.
“To be honoured alongside such distinguished ladies as Wendy and Lis and to join Sue Bennett, Jean Hughes, Pauline Frazer, Pam Shennan, and Ruth Whitehead as vice-presidents is overwhelming.
“I am lost for words!”
