Bramhall Golf Club’s new captains, Stephen Sheard and Linzi Webster, got their year in office off to a cracking start at their traditional drive-in, enjoyed by a big audience of members and friends.
Stephen Sheard, handicap 14.9, was a real big hitter after being set up by club professional Scott Parry with a huge driver on the tee – but fortunately, this was only for show. He then hit a neat drive with his normal driver.
Lady captain Linzi Webster, handicap 19, was delighted with her clinical drive straight down the middle, which she celebrated in style.
Stephen Sheard, who has been a member of the club for over 25 years, will be looking to play at least twice a week. He also likes to sing and joked that he is a member of the oldest boy band in the world, The Three Cheddars. He also enjoys woodwork, house renovation, and stained-glass work.
Linzi Webster is looking to play three or four times a week, as well as walking in the hills and travelling. She has chosen Support Dogs as her charity, and Stephen Sheard has selected Mind for Stockport and District.
