Daniel and Cherryl Twist Crowned 4BBB Champions
The fifth Gateway to Wales Mixed Golf Festival delivered spectacular golf and record-breaking scoring under glorious skies, as 140 golfers descended on Northop, Old Padeswood, and Hawarden Golf Clubs from 29th June to 1st July.
The popular event, now a standout fixture for mixed 4BBB competition, drew players from across the UK.
Sponsored once again by the Holiday Inn A55 Chester West Hotel, the festival continues to support both local tourism and club golf across North Wales.
Mrs Jennifer Smith, Managing Director of the Holiday Inn said:

Alex Rowland, Golf Manager at Hawarden Golf Club and speaking on behalf of Gateway to Wales Golf, praised the conditions and camaraderie:
“In complete contrast to last year, we experienced ideal golfing weather which resulted in record-breaking scores. We’re very grateful to the greenkeepers and volunteers at all clubs for making visitors feel so welcome.”
The coveted three-day aggregate prize of £150 and title of “Gateway to Wales Mixed Golf Festival 4BBB Champions 2025” went to Daniel and Cherryl Twist of Ellesmere GC, Worsley, with a total of 129 points, edging out Sarb and Judy Matharu (Hinckley GC) on countback.
