Wirral Golf Day Raises Over £5,700 for Claire House Charity
Arrowe Park Golf Club held its annual fundraising event for Claire House by hosting the CW Jones Open.
More than 170 golfers from far and wide descended onto the Wirral-based public course to take part in the festivities and competition expertly provided by the events committee members.
Raffles, long putting competition, golfing auction, BBQ and a plethora of outstanding prizes were available for those attending.
The day started out damp with rain, but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of those teeing off early. The weather soon perked up and before long the field was playing in bright sun.

Arrowe Park’s Len Shingler explained:
“Our committee had included extra prize opportunities with ‘nearest the pin’, ‘nearest the tap’, ‘longest drive’ and entrance to a raffle for those who hit the par three eighth green in one. All designed to bring in funds for Claire House.”
After a thoroughly enjoyable round had by all, participants made their way to the clubhouse to enjoy a BBQ and raise further funds via an auction of golf memorabilia and prizes.
