Manchester Welcomes the World Adventure Golf Tour for Landmark Competition.
MANCHESTER played host to its first-ever World Adventure Golf Masters in October, bringing together some of the world’s most talented mini golfers to compete at Dino Falls Adventure Golf, located within the Trafford Golf Centre.
The competition, part of the prestigious World MiniGolf Federation’s (WMF) Adventure Golf Tour, attracted both professional and amateur players from across the globe. Participants competed for cash prizes, trophies, and a coveted spot in the World Adventure Golf Tour Final, to be held in Portugal in May 2025.
Thrilling Performances
The event saw 30 competitors, including 20 professional players hailing from places as far-flung as Minneapolis (USA), Germany, Cornwall, and Norwich. Over four intense rounds on Dino Falls’ Rapids Course, Chris Randell from Somerset emerged victorious. His stellar performance earned him the £500 cash prize and automatic entry into the World Finals.
Other highlights included:
- Richard Benvenisti from East Sussex winning the Rookie Cup and a £200 prize.
- Finn McPherson from Gloucester claiming the Junior Trophy and a set of Callaway junior clubs.
- Local player Gary Combs from Stalybridge earning second place in the Rookie category.
Celebrating the Sport
Pete Styles, director of golf at Trafford Golf Centre, expressed pride in the event’s success:
“To see so many talented players—from seasoned pros to up-and-coming juniors—competing at Dino Falls has been incredible. This event highlights adventure golf as a sport of skill and focus with global appeal. We’re pleased to have put Manchester on the competitive mini golf map!”
Event organiser and competitive mini golfer Richard Jones added:
“It was a pleasure to be involved in organising the first major adventure golf competition in the North West for some time. The Dino Falls course gave experienced players a real test of their putting ability, and it was great to see local players showcase their competitive edge too.”
