David Ready to Build a Great Team at Didsbury
New Didsbury Golf Club captain David Sheppard has said taking up the role is his own personal golfing highlight.
The 3.8 handicapper has been a member of the South Manchester-based club for 15 years.
He said: “I want to work with our professional James and his team with regard to working with the juniors and bringing through more younger players.
“I would also like to help the current lady captain and build on past efforts to bring the men’s and ladies’ sections of the club closer together,” explained the head of design for a demolition company.
David, who lives in Manchester City Centre, added: “I play once or twice a week, and my other hobby is working in the gym and supporting Newcastle United.
My favourite hole at Didsbury is the 12th for the view it provides, and my other favourite course is West Lancs.
“My chosen charity for my captain’s year is the MS Society, which is very close to my heart after my stepdaughter was diagnosed with the condition 15 years ago.”
